Impact Speed & Agility

Impact Speed and Agility teaches athletes in grades 3 through 12 FUNdamental skills that improve their athletic experience and their athletic performance.  The program's primary goal is to enhance the natural abilities of each participant, as well as teach proper running mechanics using drills and exercises.  In this program, athletes train at a competitive level in a positive, motivating environment that promotes both confidence and teamwork.

Each Speed and Agility class is strategically planned to focus on a specific aspect of speed, agility and power.  The athletes will be separated into groups based on age.

Every athletes can look forward to the following accomplishments:

Increased speed due to learning proper mechanics
Faster 40 yard dash time
Improved first step and changing direction speed
Improved conditioning
Increased mental toughness
More explosive power due to the use of plyometrics and sled drills
Changed attitude toward training
More motivation and confidence

Athletes will be tested weekly in the following activities: 40 yard dash, Illinois test, broad jump, and L-drill

Coach DJ Brock:
Coach D.J. Brock has counseled and coached for Parks & Recreation for over 4 years. His expertise and enthusiasm have gained him results and respect from students and parents alike. In the last few years, Coach Brock has taught a variety of Parks & Recreation programs that have helped students from ages 3 to 18 improve their individual athleticism, as well as their social and emotional well-being. Those programs include: Kickball for Squirts, Tiny Tots Soccer, Capture the Flag, and Impact Speed and Agility.

Recently, Coach D.J. has expanded his programs to include the Beast Mode Project – 3-week sessions that are fast-paced, high energy training programs for ages 18 and older.
